Completely Withdrawing & Satisfactory Academic Progress
The Department of Education requires students to pass at least 67% of their attempted hours in order to remain eligible for Federal financial Aid. When a student drops all courses after the Pell Recalculation Date of the semester, they will have earned 0 credit hours for the semester, regardless of the final grade posted. In this case, the student’s completion rate is lowered. A student who was previously in Good Standing will enter a Fail status. A student who was previously in a Fail status will no longer meet the Department of Education’s guidelines for maintaining satisfactory academic progress and will not be eligible to receive Federal financial aid in the future unless an appeal is granted. If you are considering completely withdrawing, please contact the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships to determine the potential effects.
